Updates & patch notes
What changed in 1.0.47.0, why the friction is intentional, and what we are watching next.
The current patch is 1.0.47.0. It is a bug-fix and quality-of-life patch: backpack and death-pack behavior, item stacking, controller prompts, localization and Steam Deck startup. The developer also published a design note explaining why the game is intentionally friction-heavy.
Patch 1.0.47.0 — the short version
Released after launch, this patch focuses on the problems players hit in the first days. The official notes list:
- Fixed several messages that only displayed in English, and added translations for new text.
- Removing a lobby password now works properly.
- Controller prompts now show the rotation buttons.
- Credits include the localization teams and the updated Raw Fury team, and scroll faster.
- OK / Cancel dialog buttons are bigger and no longer cut off.
- Deconstructed items no longer fall through the floor.
- Refunds now drop like container contents instead of spawning on top of each other.
- Backpacks and death packs now wash ashore instead of sinking when they end up in water.
- Items should no longer be lost when adding to partial stacks.
- Backpack contents should no longer swap or duplicate after switching backpacks.
- Steam Deck now starts in native fullscreen instead of a leftover window size.
- Controllers are detected properly in the Xbox app version of the game on PC.
If you are still on the launch build, update before you judge the inventory system. Several of the loudest launch complaints are addressed here.
Dev Blog #10 — why the friction is intentional
The developer's design note is worth reading if the game feels hostile. The short version: the small inventory, the lack of direction and the slow exploration are deliberate. The team wants you to stop, think, look around and talk to your co-op partners. The backpack is specifically described as a tool for moving camp, not a second inventory for every trip.
That does not mean every rough edge is sacred. The same note acknowledges that frustration without purpose is different from friction that supports the experience. The patch shows they are willing to fix the latter.
Launch details worth knowing

- The first content update: new areas, recipes or bosses would change the guide priorities.
- Any change to the true-ending command or the prison sequence.
