Troubleshooting

Can't play with friends? Start here

Most launch co-op issues start with the lobby password bug or an old build. Here is the order to check.

Short answer

First, update to patch 1.0.47.0: it fixed a bug where removing a lobby password did not take effect. Then check the host's lobby settings, both clients' versions and the controller prompts. If the join still fails, report the platform pair and the exact error.

Quick checklist

  1. Update both games. The lobby-password fix is in 1.0.47.0.
  2. Remove and re-set the password. The old bug could leave a stale password in place.
  3. Restart both clients. Some co-op state issues clear on reload.
  4. Check the host's platform and region. Cross-platform support is listed, but the exact platform pairs are not detailed on Steam.
  5. Check controller prompts. Patch 1.0.47.0 fixed rotation-button prompts; a wrong layout can make the lobby UI feel broken.
  6. Try a direct invite. If the browser join fails, test the invite path.

What to report

Send the developer: host platform, client platform, game version, the exact error text, and whether you were host or joining. “Can't play with friends” is not enough information to reproduce; the platform pair and patch number are.

What we know about crossplay

The Steam page lists cross-platform multiplayer, but does not spell out which platforms are included. We do not claim PS5/Xbox/Switch support. See Crossplay for the full breakdown.

Patch first

A large share of launch co-op complaints were fixed in 1.0.47.0. If you are still on the October 13 build, update before troubleshooting further.
