Hammer: the metal-bar tool
A route-opening tool with a narrow job. Bring it when the route needs it, not just in case.
The hammer is reported to break metal bars. We have not verified its full recipe, durability or whether it works on stone piles. Treat it as a route-opening tool, not a universal key: if a barrier does not respond, try another interaction.
What the hammer is for
A public Steam review lists the hammer alongside the pickaxe as a route tool: a hammer for metal bars, a pickaxe for goo and clay. That makes the hammer a candidate for the next material gate after clay — the kind of tool you craft when a room refuses to open rather than when you need more damage.

The metal-bar use comes from a public Steam review. We do not have a verified recipe, durability or a complete list of barriers it opens.
When to craft it
- When you find metal bars you cannot pass. Do not craft it speculatively before you know the route needs it.
- After your first clay upgrade. The early arsenal upgrade shortens the next material gate.
- Before a prison run. If the prison route includes metal barriers, bring it; if not, leave the slot for food or a key item.
Hammer habits
- Carry it only when the route needs it. The inventory is small by design.
- Do not assume it replaces the pickaxe. They open different materials.
- Mark the barrier if you cannot pass. A short note in the progress tracker is cheaper than a second trip.
What we do not know yet
